The TON blockchain ecosystem, closely intertwined with Telegram, is on the cusp of significant expansion. Within the next 3-6 months, we expect a surge of mini-app developers to onboard and build out the ecosystem, marking a pivotal moment for TON’s growth.

Telegram, with its 900 million monthly active users (MAU), has solidified its position as a tier-1 messaging app. Simultaneously, the TON blockchain has emerged as a prominent player, rivaling other major blockchains like Ethereum and Solana in usage. The integration of Web3 wallets, USDT, and in-app purchases within the past year has drastically lowered the barriers for Web3 adoption on Telegram, setting the stage for explosive growth in Web3-enabled consumer products.
Telegram’s foray into mini-apps, reminiscent of Facebook in 2008 and WeChat in 2018, signals a transformative era. Just as these platforms saw a dramatic rise in daily active users (DAU) and monetization post-mini-app launch, Telegram looks poised for a similar trajectory. The potential for user spend per MAU on Telegram could see a 10-30x increase, while the developer ecosystem remains relatively untapped, offering 100x less competition compared to current tech giants.
Gaming and Casino companies have been avid early adopters of Mini-Apps seeing viral growth and lower new user acquisition costs in a fast growing market. Moreover Telegram doesn’t have many of the restrictions WhatsApp imposes on high-risk industries such as gambling allowing companies to build communities.
Telegram’s flexible API also allows companies to monetize and provide customer support natively through Telegram using enterprise grade customer support software such as Mava.
The TON ecosystem is set to move beyond simple tapping games such as Kombat Hamster or Notcoin within the next few months. It is expected that studios behind viral games such as Catizen will look to expand and move into a platform strategy, publishing and distributing games, paving the way for hundreds of new games to be launched, for la and a more diverse app ecosystem to develop.
We’ve put together a full list of companies building and interacting with the TON ecosystem to make it easier to identify new projects and track existing ones.

As Telegram’s infrastructure, ad-targeting, and app distribution capabilities improve, the TON blockchain ecosystem is poised for explosive growth. The reduced costs and seamless integration of Web3 elements create an environment ripe for innovation and expansion. With developers like Catizen leading the charge, the next few months could see unprecedented growth and new opportunities within the TON ecosystem.
